CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NEUTRALITY

On December 12, 1995, our country acquired the status of a permanently Neutral state. In June 2015, at the 69th meeting of the UN General Assembly, 193 countries adopted the resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan”, and at the 71st meeting of the UN General Assembly on February 2, 2017, the resolution proclaimed December 12 as International Day of Neutrality.

The Turkmen model of Neutrality is an important condition for ensuring stability in the region, as well as establishing relations on the basis of mutual respect. The policy of neutrality pursued by Turkmenistan is primarily a model of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states and peace. Therefore, the distinguished President notes that “Neutrality is a great value accepted by the international community. Our doctrine, glorifying peace and friendship, philanthropy and goodwill, cooperation and growth.”

Our constantly Neutral Homeland has great authority as a country of friendship and brotherhood, unity and humanity. As a result of the consistent policy of Turkmenistan, neutrality has risen to a new stage in the growth of friendly relations between the peoples of the region. Here, a very large role belongs to the domestic and foreign policy pursued by the respected President of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan has consistently pursued a policy of Neutrality and is making a great contribution to the growth of international relations for the benefit of peace and harmony.
