CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
The Turkmen people are based on democratic and national foundations, inherited by traditions, thousand-year-old customs of the free will of their fathers, under the leadership of the Leader of the nation and have a worthy continuation in an era of power and happiness. Held in the country kind of elections is carried out in a multi-party system. The political parties operating in the country in accordance with the Electoral code of Turkmenistan enjoy the right to nominate candidates, appoint national observers and nominate representatives to election commissions, participate in conducting election campaign events for the elections of the President of Turkmenistan, deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of the halk maslahaty and Gengeshes. They also hold meetings with representatives of international organizations and foreign observers. This undoubtedly proves the development of democracy in the country and indicates the strengthening of the role of political parties in society.
The country has accumulated a wealth of experience in conducting elections, an effective form of popular democracy and the free will of citizens. The various elections held in permanently Neutral Turkmenistan also turned into an important social and political event for the benefit of the people and the country. Elections are a free and voluntary implementation of the will of citizens, and are also a peculiar manifestation of national democracy.
As our Dear President wisely and wisely notes, “The dynamic development of the political, economic, social and cultural spheres of independent Turkmenistan, committed to the national principles of a democratic, legal, secular state structure, is due to the cohesion of society and the creative work of our people.”

The election commissions inform the population through the mass media about their composition, location and organizational work related to the elections, registered candidates and their biographical data on the results of voting for each candidate as well as on election results.
In our country in recent years, observation of the conduct of elections is more improved by international standards in accordance with democratic traditions and working out to ensure the prosperity of the people in government has become the main requirement of the attention given to democratic institutions

Along with the designated national observers from political parties, public associations, groups of citizens and candidates, observers from international organizations, such as the United Nations, from the bureau of democracy institutes and human rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Islamic Organization Cooperation as well as international observers of foreign countries, independent observers.
Regular informing the population through the mass media of the work carried out on the appointment of national observers from political parties, public associations, groups of citizens and candidates and their registration with the relevant election commission as well as certificates issued about their rights expresses that our elections are held in public.

Democratic elections are an important step in strengthening the foundations of the democracy of Turkmen society on the path of reviving the principles of true democracy.
