On December 12th of this year, Turkmenistan will be celebrating its 25th year of anniversary. The 12th of December is International Neutrality Day. On account of the initiative of Turkmenistan on February 2017, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring December 12th of each year - the International Day of Neutrality. This is a clear sign that the foreign policy of our state is gaining great support around the world.
At the meetings of the UN General Assembly, our esteemed President regularly puts forward proposals for the vital interests of the peoples of the world. These proposals contribute to the improvement of international law, the strengthening of peace, and the expansion of friendly and close relations.
Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan promotes further economic development, the expansion of international cooperation in the world, and provides impetus to the development of good neighborly relations. Our legal status of permanent neutrality of the state expands the scope of friendship and closeness with the countries of the world.
It is a matter of great pride that Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan has established diplomatic relations with many countries around the world, opening diplomatic missions and consulates in it, officially registering diplomatic and international missions of foreign countries in our country, and becoming a member of international organizations of our country.

The foreign policy initiatives of our esteemed President are reflected with the high efficiency in the promotion and implementation of our neutral cooperation with the United Nations. Also, the signing of the "Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021-2025" on March 14, 2020, is a disposition to the strategic partnership between our country and the United Nations. Recently, Turkmenistan has been elected for two more membership of the UN – Member of the Social Development Commission for the period 2021 - 2025, which is part of the bodies of the Economic and Social Council, and for the sake of development as a member of the Science and Technology Commission for the period 2021 - 2024.
In this regard, the Turkmen model of Neutrality is in line with the principles and goals of the United Nations, which contributes to the expansion of large-scale relations with all structures of other countries.
