CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
Our country is gaining an influential role in the international arena based on our esteemed President's foresight, prudence, and humanitarian initiatives. Our Homeland is nourished with success, progress, and high achievements, its glorious dates are written in golden letters into our history.
In the age of prosperity of our sovereign state, thanks to the unparalleled efforts of our esteemed President, every day of our prosperous country is full of weddings and holidays. One of the great holidays of our state is the Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan which will be marked by inspiration with large and colorful celebrations.
Our Independence and permanent Neutrality enables our people to decide their destiny and allows us to establish bilateral and multilateral mutually beneficial relations with the world and neighboring countries.
It is a holiday that illuminates the hearts and marks the beginning of a new historical epoch for all our compatriots.
Today, in the year of «Turkmenistan – Homeland of Neutrality», the democratic and constitutional improvements that are being implemented is clear proof of the inviolability of our solid legal foundation, national stability, and permanent Neutrality, it gives our people inexhaustible spiritual strength under a peaceful sky.
The recent historical period has shown that the decision on the legal status of Neutrality of Turkmenistan is genuine and correct.
This path is in the national interest of the Turkmen people, proved to be fully in line with the long-term tasks for the socio-economic development of our country and under the objectives of equality and mutually beneficial international cooperation.
As it is known, the adoption of the Constitutional Law by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan «On Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of Turkmenistan» at the session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan in September of this year highlights the historical significance of the respective conference.
With the respect to the following statements, the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan has decided to adopt a resolution – «On the organization of the first election of the members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and on establishing organizational work related to the establishment of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan».
Based on that decision, the first election of members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan is scheduled to take place on the last Sunday in March 2021. That is, the elections will be held on March 28, 2021.
The constitutional improvements that are taking place in our country have an important role in shaping the historical and legal legitimacy. Our forefathers were in favor of resolving every matter in consultation with the people and the interest of the people. The constitutional improvements that have taken place in connection with the transition to the bicameral system – Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan (Parliament) is also a clear reflection of the triumph of national democracy.
In the interests of citizens, these constitutional improvements are aimed towards the advancement of democracy, the rise of people's power, improvements in the political system of society, and necessary conditions for the development of our national parliament.
Because, as our dear Arkadag points out, to improve the work of the legislature of our country is by supporting the best practices of the accumulated experience of parliamentarism in the world and its implementation into our national legislation, this notion is crucial in shaping and consolidating a system of law that is resilient to the improvements taking place in the modern world.
The direct exercise of the people's power by the people of Turkmenistan – is the active and free participation of the people in elections and referendums.
On a democratic basis, the election of all representative bodies is a matter of mutual trust between the people and the authorities, it is a sign that the civil society is constantly improving with regards to the active implementation of its constitutional rights to participate in the administration of public affairs.
It is a great pride for each of us that the prudent state policy pursued by our esteemed President is at the forefront of the achievements in the comprehensive development of our Motherland.
May the health of our Arkadag be safe and may his efforts further elevate the international prestige of our Independent, permanent Neutral Turkmenistan!
