CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
On January 31, 2022, our esteemed President chaired a working meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on digital issues. It was reported at the meeting that good news had been received from UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, scientific and cultural organization. Our Hero Arkadag congratulated all the turkmen people on the inclusion of the art of dutar making, music playing and baghshi in the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list of Mankind.
As we know, this decision was taken at the 16th session of the UNESCO intergovernmental committee on the protection of the intangible cultural heritage of Mankind, held in Paris on December 13-18, 2021. Presented by Turkmenistan "The art of making dutar, the art of playing the dutar and the art of bakhshi" has been included in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of Mankind. This solution has been recognized by UNESCO and international experts for its high ratings. Thus, as a symbol of peace, brotherhood and mutual trust, our national music art, which has been high in the turkmen land for centuries, has become an integral part of the universal heritage.
Addressing the participants of the working meeting, the President stressed that Turkmenistan's relations with UNESCO have a special place in the foreign policy of our Neutral state. “Ancient Merv” and “Koneurgench” state historical and cultural reserves, fortresses of Old and New Nisa, the epic art “Gorogly”, national song and music “Kushtdepdi”, and as well as inclusion of our cultural values such as Turkmen carpet weaving in the UNESCO list is fully confirms this, he noted.
As far as we know, rituals and artifacts that are valuable to humanity as a whole are included in the World list of intangible cultural heritage. It is a great pleasure for all our people to be included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of Mankind the art of dutar making, the art of playing the dutar and the art of baghshi under the wise leadership of our esteemed President.
The dutar of the turkmen people, which is considered to be the best among the turkmen musical instruments inherited from our ancestors is one of the most valuable treasures of our ancient, national culture.
On the fact that the dutar musical instrument is a national pride and spiritual secret of the turkmen people is possible to see valuable ideas put forward in the deep wisdom books of our esteemed President, “Music of peace, friendship, music of brotherhood”, “Culture is the soul of the people”, “Bakhshis are heralds of national happiness”
In the new historical epoch this happy event gives a special impetus to the glorious steps of 2022, which began with a high spirit with the name of “The Era of the People with Arkadag”. May there be plenty of good news like this!
May the live of our esteemed President, who pays special attention to the glorious history, past heritage and national culture of our dear Motherland, does a great job in protecting it, educating the younger generation and spreading it around the world will be long!
