CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
Every day of the year of the “People with Arkadag” of the Revival period of the new era of a powerful state is filled with heart-pleasing holidays, historical events that cause pride. One of such wonderful joyful holidays is the International Children’s Day, which, in our state of Turkmenistan, the country of happy childhood, is celebrated annually on June 1.
Under the wise leadership of our esteemed President, a lot of work is constantly being done in our beloved Fatherland so that the younger generation will live a prosperous and happy life, grow up strong, educated, patriotic and hardworking people. This program work positively contributes to the comprehensive development of the child in our country, promotes the education of high moral qualities.
The adoption, in order to further improve the work of preschool institutions in our country, of the “Program for improving the activities of preschool institutions in the field of early development and improving the preparation of a child for school in Turkmenistan for 2020-2025” is also a sign of successful reforms aimed at a happy future for the younger generation in our Homeland - Turkmenistan.
The State constantly takes care to ensure the harmonious development of the younger generation living a free, peaceful life, as well as to preserve and strengthen their health. Full evidence of this is the creation of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation on the initiative of our esteemed Arkadag to support children in need of patronage.
Certainly, the creation of this charitable foundation will provide social support to the younger generation, help restore the health of children in need, provide them with a happy life, and also creates favorable conditions for the formation of such high human qualities as a sense of loyalty to the Motherland, spirituality, purity, morality, humanity, humility.
Currently, kindergartens, schools and sports centers fully equipped with modern equipment, multimedia and educational facilities are operating in the capital Ashgabat, in velayat centers, in all cities and villages. Health centers “Ene mähri” and children's health rehabilitation centers have also been built and put into operation, which provide specialized medical care to our mothers and babies.
In addition to receiving a high-level education for the younger generation, all conditions have been created in our country for modern recreation in modern children's health centers and recreation centers in summer and winter, as well as for spiritual and physical development. Thousands of children have fun and usefully spend time in health and recreation centers built in one of the most beautiful places – the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” and in the gorge “Gökdere”. In order to identify talented children and inspire them to creativity, such contests as “Garaşsyzlygyñ merjen däneleri”, “Iň eýjejik gyzjagaz”, “Merdana nesil”, as well as creative contests are held annually.
In our country, effective cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund is carried out to protect the health and rights of children, their upbringing on the basis of moral principles. Our country has joined a number of fundamental international legal documents in this direction - the World Declaration on Ensuring the Survival, Protection and Development of Children, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Hague Convention.
Turkmenistan consistently fulfills its obligations by joining a number of important UN conventions. In particular, with the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, our country is actively involved in ensuring favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of the younger generation.
Breastfeeding and measures to combat anemia in Turkmenistan have been highly appreciated by major international organizations. The maternity hospital of our country has been awarded the title of “Child-friendly Hospital”.
Our long-term partner is the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which is actively involved in the implementation of maternity and childhood protection programs in our country.
The basic legal framework that guarantees the protection of the rights of the child is reflected in the Constitution of our country and the law “On State Guarantees of the Rights of the Child”.
The fact that chapter 12 of the Family Code of Turkmenistan, which regulates family and legal relations, is entirely devoted to children’s rights testifies to the inviolability of children’s rights in our country. The celebration in our Fatherland, annually on June 1, of the International Children’s Day is evidence of the great work being done to establish each of them as a person.
For the Turkmen people, there is nothing more precious than a child. As they say “Bal süýji – baldanam bala süýji”, cute kids are the joy of every parent. When you see a happy child enjoying hot love in the arms of his mother, the heart flutters, and it overflows with a sense of joy. Our children, decorating happy hearths with the sounds of laughter, attract us with their gentle caress.
That is why in our free, peace-loving country, the International Children's Day is celebrated annually on June 1 with great enthusiasm and celebrations.
