CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
Under the wise leadership of our esteemed President, who carries the international reputation of our peaceful country at the Powerful period of new era of the Sovereign state the main goal of our successful domestic and foreign policy is to further develop friendly relations, bilateral and multilateral cooperation with friendly countries.
Our esteemed President attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with the countries of the region in various fields, such as political-economic, cultural-humanitarian, transport-communication, industry-communication and agriculture. The brotherhood Republic of Uzbekistan is one of the wide-ranging strategic partners of our country, which maintains bilateral advantageous relations.
Traditional neighborly diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan were established on February 7, 1993. During the years of holy Independence the Republic of Uzbekistan became one of the largest, reliable and trusted partners of our country, the friendly and brotherly relations rooted from the history reached a new level. The commonality of cultural and spiritual values of the Turkmen and uzbek peoples encourages the strengthening of these relations.
Our esteemed President's state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 14-15 of this year testifies to what has been said. In particular, the great works done by our Hero Arkadag for the strengthening of good relations between the two countries are immeasurable.
As you know, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan a good neighbor of Turkmenistan made a two-day official visit to our country on October 20-21, 2022. During the visit, high-level talks were held between the President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the talks held in a state of mutual trust, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan exchanged views on the main issues of turkmen-uzbek relations, taking into account new opportunities and priority plans for the future.
Effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan meets the long-term interests of the two brotherhood states and is the main condition for ensuring peace, stability, security, and development in Central Asia. Regular large-scale cultural events contribute to the further rapprochement of the two peoples.
Today, economic cooperation is given great importance in bilateral relations. In particular, cooperation in industrial sectors, strengthening relations between border regions, water and energy issues, and joint efforts in solving the problems of the Aral are considered important.

Generally speaking, this official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to our country was very rich of interesting events. During the visit the meeting of the President of Uzbekistan with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Hero Arkadag became a proof of the high level of attention paid to the parliamentary relations between the two countries.
As we know, Tashkent located along the ancient caravan route became a brotherhood with our white city Ashgabat. On May 20, 2017, Ashgabat city municipality and Tashkent city municipality reached an Agreement on establishing brotherhood relations. This was of great importance in bringing the cultural and humanitarian relations between the capital cities of the two countries to a new level. If you remember, we know that since ancient times there has been a Turkmen bazars in Tashkent, as well as streets and settlements named after turkmen personalities. Also, Ashgabat also has Alyshir Novayi street, and a monument to him was installed in "Ylham" park located along that street.
Here, in the days when the yellow leaves of golden autumn decorate the Earth – on October 21, 2022, with the participation of the Heads of the neighboring friendly countries, the "Daşkent" park was solemnly opened, which is a unique contribution to the architectural image of our White city Ashgabat, covered with white marble and adorning our beautiful capital along the Magtymguly avenue. This cultural park built in consideration of the national characteristics of brotherhood uzbek people was a clear expression of friendship, unity and cultural closeness between the two countries.
Also, within the framework of the opening ceremony the participation of the Heads of state of the two countries was a ceremony of laying the foundation of the Turkmen-uzbek border trade zone - Trade center located in Dashoguz velayat through a telebridge gives great confidence that trade and economic relations will be strengthened in the future.
By the way, for more than 4 years now one of the most beautiful corners of ancient Tashkent has been graced by the beautiful "Ashgabat" park. It is located in the city of Tashkent, in a corner not far from the street named after Magtymguly Pyragy, the philosopher and poet of the Turkmen people, this park was opened in April 2018 with the participation of the Heads of state of the two countries. "Ashgabat" park has become one of the most popular places for recreation of Tashkent residents and visitors.
Yes, relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are developing confidently. This official visit of Uzbek Leader to our country will give a new impetus to long-term cooperation, will contribute to strengthening the traditional friendly, good neighborly relations between the countries and peoples of the region.
Today effective works and state attitudes which originated from our esteemed President's prudent initiatives, are aimed not only at the interests of our people, but also at the general interests of the world community.
