CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
Under the wise leadership of the people-elected President Arkadagly Serdar, we are confidently moving forward to new heights in the name of a happy future for our united people. We see future successes in the development of our holy Fatherland Era of Revival of the epoch of Powerful State.
As you know, “Revival of a new era of a powerful state: the National program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052” was adopted in the name of a peaceful, independent state and ensuring a happy and prosperous life for the future generation.
Looking at a great future and a new era of development, this program determined the main directions for the development of our independent state and its institutions for the next 30 years, and in accordance with the directions of the National program, fruitful achievements were achieved this year.
These achievements include the protection of human rights and freedoms, legislation and its norms, economics, social policy, in the fields of science, education, culture, youth policy and the digital system. And also, environmental protection, nature management and agro-industrial complex, through the foreign policy activities of Turkmenistan, local representative authorities and local governments, elections.
In the era of the Renaissance of a powerful state, we can proudly say that on March 12, in the year of the “Era of the people with Arkadag”, Presidential elections were held in our country in democratic conditions. Indeed, the elections were free and fair. Foreign guests observing the elections - international observers - noted with satisfaction that the elections were held in conditions of transparency, in accordance with the law.
Most importantly, the Turkmen people highly appreciate the conduct of the elections.
In terms of international and inter-parliamentary activities of the Halk Maslakhaty and the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, work is purposefully continued to strengthen and develop relations with the parliaments of foreign states, international organizations, including with the United Nations. This is an important tool to support international initiatives of our state.
In addition, the country hosted a high-level trilateral meeting, the first meeting of the heads of state of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey in the Avaza national tourist zone. This meeting gave a new impetus to the development of traditional cooperation in the field of strategic energy, which is the main direction of the national economy of the three countries. As a result, several important agreements were signed.
The parties noted that great opportunities for expanding cooperation in the energy sector contribute to the development of international cooperation based on legal norms, mutual respect and consideration of mutual interests.
Another joyful and proud historical event has taken place in a country moving forward along a progressive democratic path. On December 21 this year, our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an off-site meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
During the meeting, the chairman of the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan familiarized with the content of the resolutions of the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan “On classifying the status of the city of the new modern administrative center of the Ahal velayat and giving it the name”, she also announced the good news that, taking into account the wishes of the residents of the Ahal velayat and citizens of the country , petitions of public associations in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan “On the procedure for resolving issues of the administrative-territorial structure of Turkmenistan”, the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan decided to assign the status of a city with the rights of an etrap to the new, modern administrative center of the Ahal velayat, to name the new modern administrative center of the Ahal velayat “Arkadag” and continue to call it the “Arkadag city of the Ahal velayat.”
The assignment of the name of the city of Arkadag to the most beautiful administrative center of the Ahal velayat is the main joyful event of the year and a clear celebration of the unity of our Motherland, our people, the Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Serdar.
As a joyful event of the year, the good news was announced that the nomination “Turkmen embroidery art” proposed by our country was included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
In this historical year, along with other important events, special buildings, structures and residential buildings of particular interest to life were built and put into operation, bringing joy to the hearths.
In particular, it should be noted with pride that this year, within the framework of international relations, the heads of our friendly countries solemnly presented state awards to our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Serdar.
Thus, with the support of our Hero of Arkadag, Arkadagly Serdar, this year has been one of the unforgettable historical years. This year's achievements are aimed at our future.
Several similar events are planned for next year. Largely relying on the wise instructions and advice of our esteemed President at the State council of Turkmenistan, an important socio-political event in the country - in 2023, the election of deputies of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, members of the velayat, etrap, city halk maslahaty and members of the Gengesh during the Revival of the new era of a powerful state, the organized conduct of elections is an important task. In this regard, we must prepare for the upcoming elections with all responsibility.The elections, which are proof of the perfection of the Turkmen society, the realization of political rights and freedoms of citizens, also clearly show that people's democracy is widespread in the country.
We wish our esteemed President, who helps to increase the authority of our democratic, legal and secular state at the international level, actively supports the improvement of the electoral system in the country and leads his people to a happy future, health, longevity and prosperity!
Taking this opportunity, we sincerely congratulate our Turkmen people, our esteemed President, Hero Arkadag on the upcoming New Year.
