CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
Based on the peace-loving policy of our esteemed President and Hero Arkadag in our peaceful land, which affirms friendship, brotherhood and world peace, the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 celebrated with great pride is a holiday of happiness, patriotism and peacefulness.
During the Great Patriotic War turkmen soldiers along with representatives of other nations, fought heroically, demonstrating the honor, courage and bravery inherent to our people. The patriotism of the brave and faithful sons of the heirs of the ancient Oguz, who honored the sanctity of their Motherland more than their lives, has eternal value in our hearts.
Of course, when you see historical video footage of the heroes of the Motherland who returned victorious from the Great Patriotic War in 1945, you see how the carpet was spread under their feet, you become a witness to the great respect that our people feel for them.
Despite the fact that years and centuries have passed, honor and respect for the brave people who glorified their Motherland are rising to new heights in our country.
The magnificent memorial complex “Memory of the People” in our capital – is our eternal spiritual support, an exemplary school for our youth and a spiritual incentive for them to be devoted to their Motherland.
The fact that this monument complex is called “Memory of the People” has a deep meaning. Because, as our esteemed President said, “The Motherland is a Motherland only with the people! The state is a state only with the people!” As the wise motto makes clear, the people are the indestructible support of the Motherland.
In fact we can say with great pride that the Turkmens – are a heroic people, when it comes to defending their Motherland are able to bravely and fearlessly resist the enemy on the battlefield.
As we know, the heroism and courage shown by our fathers in the battles of the Great Patriotic War are written in golden letters in the history of our people. The names of soldiers from Turkmenistan who demonstrated in the Great Patriotic War, which lasted 1,418 days a vivid example of courage and fearlessness, returned to their Motherland with victory, participated in the socio-economic development of the Fatherland, immortalized in the five-volume book “Memory” and “Glory”.
Turkmen women, whose husbands went to war, also showed a great example of dedication and patriotism. The women who worked in the fields during the day with sickles and hoes knitted socks and mittens at night. They also donated 7,392 tons of their gold and silver jewelry to the defense fund, proving their great sense of peacefulness. It is a proud historical fact that Turkmen women have donated the largest amount of gold and silver jewelry to the defense Fund.
It is worth noting that the life paths of Berdimuhamed Annayev a great teacher, patriotic warrior and respected among people, the great-grandfather of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the grandfather of the National Leader of the Turkmen people our Hero Arkadag, as well as the exemplary statesman Malikguly Berdimuhamedov are also examples of true patriotism, courage and dedication to duty for today's youth.
In honor of Victory Day war veterans, as well as the spouses of soldiers who died in the war are awarded monetary rewards, valuable gifts and bouquets of flowers on behalf of the esteemed President.
The fact that this year coincides with the celebration of the significant 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the significant 30th anniversary of the three times recognized Turkmen Neutrality also has a deep and significant meaning, stemming from the peace-loving, humane policy of our country.
The country's effective initiatives, which it promotes for the benefit of all mankind, well-being and development, play a significant role in ensuring security, sustainable development, peace and trust in the region.
“The International Year of Peace and Trust” on May 9 celebrated Victory Day is another celebration of the peace-loving doctrine of our country and raises our spirits.
We wish our esteemed President and Hero Arkadag, who are leading our courageous people to a happy future in unity, peace and along the democratic path, health, longevity, high honor and success in large-scale activities for the benefit of the people and the country.
