CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
During in the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, under the wise leadership of our Hero Arkadagly Serdar, every day of our beloved Motherland is filled with holidays and historical events. Every year on May 18, our powerful state celebrates the holiday of the Constitution of our Motherland and the green flag as a celebration of spiritual revival, unity and solidarity. This double date – the Day of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Day of the State Flag of Turkmenistan – is widely celebrated among our people.
The Constitution and the State Flag of Turkmenistan symbolize the principles of Independence and Neutrality of our Motherland, the commitment of the Turkmen people to peaceful and friendly relations.
As our esteemed President noted, the Constitution and the State Flag of our Independent, permanently Neutral country are a evidence of the glorious past of our beloved Motherland, a guarantee of our happy present and a guarantee of a great future are our national values that recognize the inviolability and eternity of our principles of national statehood.
Article 22 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan states: “The symbols of Turkmenistan as a sovereign State are its State Flag, State Emblem and National Anthem”. Also, article 1 of the Law of Turkmenistan “On the State Flag of Turkmenistan” states: “The State flag of Turkmenistan is a symbol of the unity and independence of the people of Turkmenistan and the neutrality of the state”. In this regard, the State Flag along with the Constitution is a symbol embodying the sovereignty of the State and its status as a subject of international law.
The Constitution of Turkmenistan as the Basic Law and our State Flag embody the principles of Independence and Neutrality of our Motherland, the commitment of the united Turkmen people to peaceful and benevolent relations.
The flag is a sacred symbol, embodying the power of the state, Independence and sovereignty of the state. The green flag of the Turkmen people is a symbol of unity, peace, solidarity and harmony on the planet.
Today, in an era of peace and mutual trust, our green flag flying high and freely at the Constitution building, on the Main Flag Square in the capital, on the flag squares in Arkadag, in the Velayat centers, as well as in front of the United Nations building further glorifies the sanctity of the main symbols of our statehood.
The Constitution of Turkmenistan regulates social relations that arise in the process of building a democratic, legal and secular State, in which the main value is a person. The Constitution embodies the national principles of the Turkmen state – Independence and Neutrality, peace, civil harmony, democracy, the rule of law and determines the socio-economic development of our society.
The strength of our country’s legal framework, based on universally recognized democratic norms, is linked to the love, respect and pride of the people for their national flag. The flag and the Constitution are sacred symbols, symbolizing the independence and sovereignty of each State. A society with full rule of law is strong and capable of growing and changing according to the demands of the times.
May our green Flag fly forever in our peaceful, calm sky. We wish Hero Arkadag and Hero Arkadagly Serdar, who raised the international authority of our Motherland to a high level and gave the Turkmen people such a wonderful, peaceful life, health and well-being!
