CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
During in the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, great attention is paid to carpets and the art of carpet weaving in our country. The Turkmen Carpet holiday celebrated annually on the last Sunday of May, is a date that glorifies the greatness of national heritage — the beautiful art that our people have created throughout their history.
This holiday testifies to our fidelity to the unique national and spiritual-moral values of our ancestors. According to historical sources, the unique patterns of Turkmen carpets originate from the alphabet created by our ancestor Oguz Khan.
Our Hero Arkadagly Serdar wisely remarks about this beautiful art: “Carpets, which have been perfected over the centuries, have become an integral part of Turkmen life with their unique national characteristics, have become an ornament to our homes, hearths and the pride of our soul, recognized worldwide and included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) wonderful symbol of the eternity of art”.
We can proudly say that Turkmen carpets, as works of art that have no equal in the world in beauty and elegance, were also included in the Guinness Book of Records.
The Turkmen carpet – is an art born of the love and devotion of our women, a wonderful work of art for all time, created from the harmony of beautiful colors. The beauty and grace of the Turkmen carpet, whose history dates back to ancient times, fascinates everyone who sees it. Because it expresses the spiritual world of our people, the unique beauty of our nature, love, desires and destinies of our women through unique patterns. Our glorious past, bright future and magnificent present come to life in exquisite carpets with magical powers.
The carpet is as beautiful as the soul of a Turkmen and as perfect as the ocean, embodying the spiritual state, lifestyle and amazing secrets of our courageous people.
In this regard, our Hero Arkadag skillfully reveals the beauty of the ancient and enduring art of our people in his wonderful books “Janly rowaýat” and “Arşyň nepisligi”. These works are a vivid testimony to the respect we pay to our national treasures – our women, who create a world of beauty with their artistic hands.
Today, Turkmen carpets glorify the honor and dignity of our happy people and increase our pride in our Motherland. As our Hero Arkadagly Serdar said: “In the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, special attention is paid to the development of the world-famous art of carpet weaving of our people. Important conditions are created for the popularization, consistent improvement of this beautiful art, the creation of new carpet samples, the preservation and revival of original carpets.” In our wonderful era, the attention paid to carpets has risen to a very high level.
In accordance with the Decree of the esteemed President, in honor of the Turkmen Carpet Day awarding the honorary title of “Honored Carpet Weaver of Turkmenistan” to master-carpet weavers who weave the most ancient works of art of our people and spread their fame around the world and the solemn presentation of valuable gifts is a clear evidence of the great respect shown to them.
Thanks to the efforts of our esteemed President, who is successfully implementing the initiatives of our National Leader, carpet production is constantly being modernized in order to popularize the art of carpet weaving and preserve the original samples of its most ancient forms. Our carpet weavers work tirelessly, using all the facilities created for them.
