CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
The International Year of Peace and Trust filled with joy and celebration all over the world, rich in wonderful events in the life of our people, each of which is filled with moments of pride. These moments of pride bring joy and happiness to the hearts of every citizen and every compatriot. The great successes and new heights achieved by our sovereign Motherland testify to the great merits of our esteemed President and success of his noble goals. In our country, the status of permanent Neutrality, which has been recognized three times by the relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, currently preparing for the celebrations to be held on December 12 this year in honor of the 30th anniversary of this significant date.
Recently, under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular meeting of the Organizing State Committee for high-level events in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust and significant 30th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of our country.
Speaking about the issues to be discussed at the meeting of the Organizing State Committee, our Hero Arkadag emphasized that the significant 30th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of our Independent country is approaching and this holiday will be widely and solemnly celebrated. “By implementing a peaceful foreign policy, Turkmenistan is working effectively in this direction and putting forward important initiatives. The unanimous adoption by the United Nations General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan of the Resolution “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust” has become one of the significant events. This is another step towards maintaining and strengthening peace, security and sustainable development in the world”, – the National Leader continued.
A number of international events are regularly held in our country and around the world in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust and significant 30th anniversary of our permanent Neutrality. Our Hero Arkadag noted that the representative forum of the International Year of Peace and Trust, which will be held on December 12 this year, will be of great importance in popularizing the peace-loving policy of our state. Noting the need to make every effort to hold this international event and celebrations at a high level, as well as to make a worthy contribution to this noble cause, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan listened to reports from the heads of relevant structures on the work carried out in this direction in their subordinate structures.
After hearing the reports, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the organization of celebrations held in honor of the significant date should be approached comprehensively, without losing sight of any issue. Our National Leader emphasized that international scientific and practical conferences should be organized during the holidays, teachers and students who will participate in international events as volunteers and translators should be highly trained. He also drew attention to the need to explain to the younger generation in schools the meaning and essence of the symbolism of the significant year, which will be important for their education in the spirit of patriotism. In general, through the successful holding of international events, it is necessary to demonstrate to the whole world the noble traditions, hospitality and comprehensive prosperity of our beloved Motherland. Our Hero Arkadag noted that the wise phrase “Gelen – dewlet” should be reflected on the Turkmen land.
It should be noted that at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan one of the important political and public events of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted: “Turkmenistan’s Neutrality – is the heritage not only of the Turkmen people, but also of all humanity. Neutrality – is a doctrine that proclaims to the world our activities that encourage peace and cooperation and call peoples to friendship, brotherhood and unity. It gives our courageous people, who are building for the sake of the great future of the Motherland, strength and energy for new achievements”. Neutrality and peace-loving state policy – are inextricably linked concepts, which in themselves are one of the main directions in common efforts to ensure a secure future for human civilization in the modern world. For our people, all goals on the path of peaceful development are the key to a happy and peaceful life.
Independent Turkmenistan adhering to the principle of Neutrality makes a significant contribution to the peaceful development of international relations, ensuring global security and sustainable development. This is clearly evidenced by the unanimous adoption of the Resolution “Avaza Political Declaration” on October 14 this year at the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA. This clearly demonstrates that the foreign policy strategy and mutually beneficial well-thought-out initiatives of our Hero Arkadag and our Arkadagly Hero Serdar lead to success.
The adoption of the Resolution “Avaza Political Declaration” was another confirmation of Turkmenistan’s high international authority and its leading role in promoting the principles of permanent Neutrality, peace, trust and cooperation at the global level.
The legal status of the country’s permanent Neutrality is enshrined in the Constitution of Turkmenistan, in the Constitutional Law “On Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan”. The Constitutional law “On the legal foundations of the policy of peace and trust in Neutral Turkmenistan” is of strategic importance adopted at the historic meeting of the Halk Maslahaty held on September 19 this year. This document prepared at the initiative of the National Leader is another important step in further strengthening the principles and priorities of the permanent Neutrality status and defining its important tasks for the future. In addition, it is noteworthy that, in honor of this significant date the Law of Turkmenistan “On the establishment of the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan “Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 ýyllygyna" was adopted.
Thus, the Turkmen model of Neutrality policy based on the principles of good neighborliness, peace and trust, prevails in the world.
