CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

Good news from Geneva

At the 38th session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations, held on June 25 in Geneva, the Joint Statement on Promoting the Protection of Cultural Heritage along the Great Silk Road was unanimously adopted. The co-authors of this document, along with Turkmenistan, were 23 more states.

In this regard, at a joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the State Security Council on June 28, distinguished President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the historical significance of this event. As the Turkmen leader noted, partnership on the principles of mutual understanding and trust, respect for the diversity of cultures, we consider as one of the key factors for maintaining peace and security at the international level, strengthening friendly relations between countries and peoples.

The protection of cultural heritage along the Great Silk Road contributes to ensuring the rights and opportunities of everyone to participate in cultural life and access to cultural heritage, the head of state said.

Turkmenistan re-elected to ECOSOC

By building cooperation with the United Nations, its leading agencies and specialized agencies on the principles of strategic partnership, neutral Turkmenistan is currently a member of 9 UN structures, within which it carries out relevant work. Our state, guided by these principles of partnership, jointly with the UN, consistently carries out activities for the benefit of all mankind. Evidence of this is the election of Turkmenistan in June 2018 as a member of ECOSOC for the period 2019-2021.

It should be noted that Constantly Neutral Turkmenistan, being elected to the membership of this authoritative organization for 2013-2015, actively participated in the preparatory activities for the holding in September 2015 of an international summit on sustainable development of the United Nations.

The Political Forum under the auspices of ECOSOC is assigned the role of the main multilateral mechanism in the UN system for monitoring the implementation of the Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period until 2030. This year, during the high-level meeting, issues of providing the population with water resources and rational water use, access to reliable, stable and modern energy sources, as well as environmental issues, including combating desertification, biodiversity conservation, will be considered.

A high example of courage and selflessness

Berdimuhamed Annayev is a teacher and a brave warrior, a patriot of his land, selflessly fought on the fronts of the war of 1941-1945. His life and work path serves today for the young generation of the Turkmen people a model of patriotism, purposefulness, responsibility, loyalty to duty and the behests of ancestors.

In accordance with the special decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - Berdimuhamed Annayev for the personal courage, courage and bravery shown during the defense of the Fatherland and the performance of military duty during the Great Patriotic War, was awarded the Medal “For Courage”.

The Turkmen leader expressed sincere gratitude to the Russian leader for the high award awarded to Berdimuhamed Annayev. This award, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, is a sign of great respect for our fellow countrymen - brave warriors who fought on the fronts of the Second World War and who gave their lives for peace and peace on the whole earth.

Also, at this meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the National Leader, stressing the inviolability of the bonds of friendship and brotherhood of the peoples of the two countries, regards this award as recognition of joint efforts in maintaining peace and stability on the planet, as well as the manifestation of the close and trusting Turkmen-Russian relations.

Labor victory of grain growers of Turkmenistan

As of June 28, 2018, the harvesting stations of Turkmenistan received more than 1 million 30 thousand tons of wheat. Harvesting continues, every day thousands of tons of wheat arrive at reception points. The farmers are determined to collect up to the last grain the grown harvest, to fulfill the contractual obligations undertaken to surrender the wheat to the state.

The dynamic development of agriculture is a significant aspect of the policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The agrarian sector is carrying out large-scale transformations aimed at solving the problems in the field of import substitution and increasing the country's export potential by increasing the volume of production of various agricultural products.

The agro-industrial complex is provided with the maximum state support. Large investments are being made to modernize the infrastructure of the industry, including the construction of modern agro-processing enterprises, elevators and mill complexes with shops for harvesting selected seed wheat, plants for the production of mineral fertilizers. Significant financial resources are allocated for irrigation and land reclamation, renewal of the technical park of the agro-industrial complex.

Akhan - in the Guinness Book of Records!

... On June 29, an indicative performance of the horses was organized in the State Circus of Turkmenistan with the participation of the official representative of the Guinness Book of Records and judge Sheyda Subashi-Gemidji. The star of the performance at this show was Akhan. He showed the best achievement was the world record holder. A horse named Akhan belonging to the Akhal-Teke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan, standing on its hind legs, was able to pass a distance of 10 meters in 4.19 seconds, thereby improving the previous figure, fixed in 2016, twice! This indicator of the horse was recorded by the representative of the Guinness Book of Records as the best in the world in this type of competition and confirmed by the corresponding certificate. Such competitions are held between stallions not younger than 4 years.

This record also serves as another confirmation of the effectiveness of that immense ascetic activity of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the revival and continuity of remarkable traditions of national horse breeding, bringing this industry to the world level.

In his spare time, the Turkmen leader regularly visits Akhalteke horses, communicates with them, trains. Flawlessly mastering the skills of attacking, having mastered the best methods of famous Turkmen horse breeders, whose names have become legendary, the head of state uses them in combination with his own experience.
