CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

On May 30, 2025, our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, paid a working visit to the neighboring country the Republic of Kazakhstan. Our honored Hero Arkadagly Serdar took part in the first “Central Asia – Italy” summit, which was held in Astana.

At the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and other officials, as well as members of the country’s delegation.

After that, our esteemed President proceeded to the “Independence” Palace, the venue for the high-level meeting. There, the Head of State was warmly greeted by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. First of all, our esteemed Hero Arkadagly Serdar met with Italian Prime Minister George Meloni.

The esteemed President and Prime Minister George Meloni exchanged warm greetings and expressed confidence that this meeting would contribute to the further development of Turkmen-Italian cooperation. The Head of State emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development and strengthening of cooperation with European countries, including Italy and took the opportunity to convey warm greetings from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Prime Minister George Meloni noted with satisfaction that relations between the two countries are developing on a consistent and long-term basis and she took the opportunity to extend her best wishes to our National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to the Italian side for its unchanging support of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality and international initiatives. The esteemed President also announced that the holding of an international forum in Ashgabat on December 12 this year with the participation of heads of state and Government, heads of international organizations will be one of the main events planned to mark the significant 30th anniversary of our country’s Neutrality, as well as the International Year of Peace and Trust and invited Prime Minister George Meloni to participate in on this forum.

The Prime Minister of the friendly country expressed her appreciation for the invitation, highly commended Turkmenistan’s contribution to strengthening global peace and sustainable development and stated that Italy supports and will support Turkmenistan’s initiatives in this area.

At the conclusion of their meeting, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Italian Republic George Meloni wished each other good health, success in their state affairs and continued peace and prosperity to the friendly peoples of both countries.

Then our esteemed President met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The head of the friendly country warmly welcomed our esteemed President, noting that the Republic of Kazakhstan attaches great importance to friendly and fraternal relations and multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the invitation to participate in the first “Central Asia – Italy” summit and for the warm hospitality, expressing confidence that this high-level meeting and the decisions adopted within its framework would contribute to further development of cooperation between the countries of the region and Italy.

The esteemed President also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan our Hero Arkadag and expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended during his recent visit to Turkestan.

The President of the friendly country thanked the Head of State for accepting the invitation to participate in the summit and noted the current high level of strategic cooperation between our countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that this meeting would give a new impetus to the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation and conveyed best wishes to each other and the fraternal peoples of the two countries.

The summit, which was chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was also attended by Prime Minister of the Italian Republic George Meloni, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Welcoming the distinguished guests, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude for participating in the summit and supporting this kind of cooperation. Then the floor was given to the summit participants.

In his informative speech at the summit, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that this meeting would make a significant contribution to further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the Central Asian states and Italy, confirming Turkmenistan’s interest in expanding multifaceted cooperation within this promising format and willingness to contribute to its development.

In conclusion, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan is committed to further strengthening and expanding comprehensive cooperation with the Italian Republic, both on a bilateral level and within the framework of the “Central Asia–Italy” format.

Thus, the “Central Asia–Italy” summit became an important stage in the development of economic cooperation and international dialogue between the countries of the region and the Italian Republic. The participation of esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in this summit confirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to multilateral international cooperation in the interests of sustainable development and prosperity.
