In accordance with commissions and directions of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan to study international experience in organizing and holding elections, representative of the Central commission for holding elections and referendums of Turkmenistan and representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in the elections of deputies of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, which took place on November 30, 2025, as an international observer from Turkmenistan as part of the mission of international observers from the states – members of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Representatives from Turkmenistan participating as international observers, got acquainted about functioning of the Kyrgyz Republic’s electoral system, importance of the digital system in elections and election legislation. They also observed voting at polling stations.
The elections were held on the basis of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Constitutional Law “On the Election of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Election of Deputies of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic” and other legislative acts regulating the preparation and hold of elections, as well as decisions of the Central Election Commission.
To organize the preparation and hold of the elections, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Kyrgyz Republic created 30 electoral districts and 2,619 polling stations (including 27 for remote voting and 100 abroad).
On election day voting at polling stations took place from 08:00 to 20:00 local time.
According to the Central Election Commission’s election results report, 4 million 294 thousand 243 eligible voters were registered. 460 candidates competed for 90 parliamentary mandates in the elections.
On November 30, 2025, representatives of Turkmenistan who participated in the observation of the elections of deputies of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic T.U. Shaynazarov. That same day, after completion of the vote, they also participated in a meeting held by Deputy Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Independent States I.V.Petrishenko with the heads of delegations of the CIS member states.
