Early voting on the election of the President of Turkmenistan has begun

Ample opportunities are being created for the preparation and organized conduct of the presidential elections of Turkmenistan, which will be held on March 12, 2022, and to ensure the right of citizens of Turkmenistan to participate in the elections.

Early voting for the election of the President of Turkmenistan begins on March 2, 2022. Early voting is held daily from 08:00 to 18:00.

For example, in accordance with article 73 of the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, voters who are unable to be at their place of residence on election day have the right to vote early. Early voting is held at polling stations and begins ten days before the election day. A total of 2,618 polling stations have been formed to conduct voting in the presidential elections of Turkmenistan: including 364 in the Akhal Velayat, 272 in the Balkan Velayat, 523 in the Dashoguz Velayat, 559 in the Lebap Velayat, 549 in the Mary Velayat, 310 polling stations in the city of Ashgabat. 41 polling stations have been set up in diplomatic missions and consular organizations of Turkmenistan abroad to conduct voting.

This work, first of all, is provided for citizens traveling on long business trips or on vacation, as well as for persons who on election day - March 12, for whatever reason, will not be able to vote at their polling station.

As you know, the observer mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States continues to monitor the course of the election campaign. International observers have already visited various polling stations in the city of Ashgabat, got acquainted with their equipment, the composition of election commissions, as well as the course of early voting.
