CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
The season of nomination of candidates for elections of deputies of Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, etrap, city halk maslahats and Gengeshes which will be held on the last Sunday of March this year, ended on February 24, 2023.
According to the article 44 of Election code of Turkmenistan, Democratic party of Turkmenistan, Industrialists and entrepreneurs party of Turkmenistan, Agrarian party of Turkmenistan, as well as groups of citizens living within the respective constituencies took part in the works of nominating candidates. Deserving candidates were nominated on the constituencies created for the elections of deputies of Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, etrap, city halk maslahats and Gengeshes. All constituencies were nominated multiple candidates for one place, indicating that these elections will be held on a competitive basis.
According to the article 48 of Election code of Turkmenistan, the registration of candidates by the respective election groups will continue until March 1, 2023.
