CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
December 26, 2016 The Central Election Commission held a meeting and candidates were registered for the Presidential elections of Turkmenistan to be held on February 12, 2017, nominated by initiative citizens groups: Head Department of Economy and Development of Akhal province Serdar Begmuhammedovich Dzhelilov; Director General of the production association "Garabogazsulfat" State Concern "Turkmenchemistry" Suleymannepes Oraznepesovich Nurnepesov; deputy of Dashoguz province municipality of Turkmenistan Meretdurdy Isgenderovich Goorbanov; Director oil refineri plant of Seidi, the deputy of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Doordyyev Moostapakulyevich Ramazan; deputy of Mary province municipality of Turkmenistan Jumanazar Annayev.
The Central Election Commission of candidates were awarded certificates. The event was attended by members of the Central Election Commission, leaders of the initiative citizen’s groups.
Thus, a total of 9 candidates, 3 candidates from political parties and 6 candidates from initiative citizen’s groups of have been registered. At this time, the candidates on television continues to acquaint the electorate with its program.
