CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan held a meeting

Based on the wise guidelines of our esteemed President at a recent meeting with the deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Central Election Commission held a meeting on February 27 in reference to preparatory work for the elections of members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan which is scheduled for March 28, 2021.

Members of the Central Election Commission, representatives of working groups, officials of political parties, central bodies of public organizations, and the media attended the meeting.

A total of 111 candidates has been registered by velayat, etrap and town/city halk maslahaty for the elections of members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh.

The number of nominated candidates is Ahal velayat 20, Balkan velayat 21, Dashoguz velayat 18, Lebap velayat 18, Mary velayat 17, Ashgabat city 17. Nomination to candidacy will end on March 2, as for registration it will continue until March 7.

At the meeting, it was considered on approval of the list of venues for the voting sessions in election day of the members of the velayat and Ashgabat city halk maslahaty, also many other issues were considered and relevant decisions were made.

Also on the same day, 17 candidates were registered from the Ashgabat city for membership in the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh and identity cards were delivered to them by Central Election Commission.

The participants of the meeting said «Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust!» that the election which is scheduled on the last Sunday of March will be of great importance in the further development of democratic reforms in the political life of our country which is based on the consistent initiatives of our National Leader. They expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to our President Arkadag.
