A press conference was held at the Central Election and Referendum Commission in Turkmenistan. On March 28, the results of the election of members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan were summed up which was held for the first time in our country.
A press conference was attended by representatives of the mass media of our country.
Before announcing the results of the election of members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, the chairman of the Central Election Commission explained to the audience the peculiarities of this first time held election of our country. He also spoke in detail about the work carried out during the election season.
The chairman thanked those who were actively involved in the election season, especially the media, who regularly reported on all stages of the election and brought the news to the public attention on a regular and timely basis.
As part of the digitization framework of our election system, video cameras were arranged in polling places of Ashgabat and velayats which was broadcasted live on the website of the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan - www.saylav.gov.tm on how voters cast their ballots.
Voters – members of the velayat, Ashgabat city halk maslahaty have voted in an effective manner. More precisely, the voter turnout is the following: 97,3 % in Ahal velayat, 97,4 % in Balkan velayat, 100 % in Dashoguz velayat, 100 % in Lebap velayat, 100 % in Mary velayat, and 97,4 % in Ashgabat city.
Political parties, public organizations, groups of citizens of our country, and a group of national observers appointed by the candidates recognized that the election of members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan was based on organized, broad democratic principles and competition.
A total of 48 were elected across Turkmenistan, that is 8 members from each velayat and Ashgabat city.
Under the Constitution of Turkmenistan, 8 members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan are appointed by the President of Turkmenistan.
Under the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, the results of the elections - the information on the elected members of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan were brought to the attention of the media.
