CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

A meeting was held with the OSCE delegation

From November 28 to December 2, 2022, a delegation of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) visited the capital. 

During the visit on November 29, 2022, a meeting was held at the office of the apparatus of the Commission for holding Elections and referendums  in Turkmenistan with the participation of Alexei Gromov, senior advisor of the OSCE bureau for Democratic institutions and human rights, and Hamadziripi Munikva, advisor of the OSCE bureau for Democratic institutions and human rights. The meeting was attended by the chairman of the Central election commission, Gulmyrat Myradov, as well as representatives of the Central election commission. 

During the meeting the participants noted with satisfaction the fruitfulness of bilateral and multi-year cooperation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe which was founded on the initiative of our Hero Arkadag, and which is successfully continued by our esteemed President. 

Then the head of the Central election commission said: "Our country attaches great importance to the development of multilateral relations with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe." 

At the meeting the guests were told in detail about the implementation of digital technologies in all sectors of the national economy in the country, as well as the work carried out in the office of the central committee for holding Elections and referendums in Turkmenistan, as well as in the relevant election committees on using the capabilities of the digital system. 

During the meeting Alexey Gromov, senior advisor of the OSCE bureau for Democratic institutions and human rights had a speech. He expressed his gratitude for the hospitality. He stated that the main purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the work being done in preparation for the March 2023 parliamentary elections. They were discussed possibilities of cooperation of the OSCE bureau for Democratic institutions and human rights in organizing the next year's parliamentary elections and necessary joint measures in this regard. 

In addition, they focused on the importance of training advice seminars organized by international organizations for people involved in the election process. In particular, the attention was drawn to the training advice seminars organized by the OSCE bureau for Democratic institutions and human rights. 

Also, within the program of the delegation's visit such kind of meetings were held the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, the Institute of State, law and democracy of Turkmenistan, the ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan, the state committee on Television, radio and cinematography of Turkmenistan, the State news agency of Turkmenistan, political parties and public organizations of Turkmenistan. 

Our esteemed President notes that cooperation with prestigious international organizations is one of the strategic directions of the state's international policy, and it will continue to be so. Particular importance has been attached to the development of multilateral relations with international organizations, and those relations have acquired a new meaning in recent years. 

The participants of the meeting held in the office of the Central election commission emphasized that preparations to the elections of the deputies of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, velayat, etrap and city halk maslahaty, as well as the members of Gengeshes, which will be held in March 2023, according to the instructions given by our esteemed President at the Dovlet Maslahaty held on September 23 of this year are being made in organized manner. 

Also, they expressed their gratitude to our esteemed President for the opportunity to hold such a meeting-consultation, which will be useful in conducting elections based on democratic principles in the future.
