CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

As you know, based on the decision of Mejlis of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan on January 12, 2023, it was decided to hold the elections of deputies of the seventh convocation of Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of the fifth convocation of velayat, etrap and city halk maslahats, as well as members of the ninth convocation of Gengeshes on Sunday, March 26, 2023. 

In order to organize preparations for these elections, on January 16, 2023, was held a meeting of the Commission for holding Elections and referendums in Turkmenistan. In this Mejlis were attended the members of the Central Election Commission and specialists of the office, the members of working groups established under the Central Election Commission, responsible members of the national observers of the central offices of the Democratic party of Turkmenistan, the party of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the Agrarian party of Turkmenistan, the Trade unions of Turkmenistan, the Women's association of Turkmenistan, the Youth organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly and members of media. 

According to the agenda of Mejlis, several issues related to the organization of the upcoming elections were discussed. 

More specifically, the plan for preparing for the elections and organizing activities for it were approved. Also, the election season has been announced. 

During the mejlis of the Central Election Commission, were approved the guidelines, memos and regulations prepared for the elections. 

Also, a decision was made to create 125 constituencies for the elections of deputies of Mejlis of Turkmenistan. 

In addition, the reports of the heads of the election commissions of the velayats and Ashgabat city were heard about the tasks ahead to ensure the organized conduct of the election season. 

During the meeting it was emphasized that in the new historical epoch, it is necessary to activate activities aimed at wide dissemination among the population of the content and purpose of large-scale state programs, political-democratic reforms implemented at the initiative of our esteemed President. 

The elections of deputies of Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, etrap, city halk maslahats and Gengeshes are an important step in deepening democratic principles and emphasizing that it is a reliable foundation for the implementation of positive reforms in Revival of the new epoch of the Powerful state, the members of the Commission for holding Elections and referendums in Turkmenistan assured that they will do efforts to conduct the election season at the high organizational level.

They expressed their gratitude to our esteemed President, who created all the conditions and wide opportunities to conduct the elections in our country in accordance with our democratic principles.

During the meeting of the Central Election Commission, a number of other organizational issues were considered and were made relevant decisions.
