Turkmenistan-China: friendly new directions of communication

As it is known, on May 18-19 of this year, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the friendly country of the People's Republic of China. At the invitation of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, the President of the Republic of China took part in the "Central Asia-China" summit held in Xi'an.

By the way, this is the second visit of the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China this year. This testifies to the fact that friendly interstate relations are being developed, that they are being enriched with new content according to the current situation, and that new directions are being defined for the future.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, "The opportunities of Turkmen-Chinese cooperation are enormous and we are determined to direct those opportunities to the benefit of strengthening the relations of friendship, brotherhood and cooperation, peace and prosperity of our peoples, hand in hand with China, a great country." We are committed."

The People's Republic of China is one of Turkmenistan's most reliable partners. In Turkmen-Chinese cooperation, the fuel and energy sector is given special priority. As you know, since 2009, Turkmen natural gas has been continuously delivered to China through the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.

On May 18, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping. During the meeting held at the highest level, taking into account that Turkmenistan is conducting an energy policy based on the diversification of the delivery of energy resources to international markets, ideas were exchanged on the development of cooperation in this sector. As mentioned, there are great opportunities to expand cooperation in the transport and communication sector. It was noted that efforts to coordinate Turkmenistan's "Restoration of the Great Silk Road" strategy with China's "One Belt One Road" initiative are important in ensuring sustainable development and security in the region. This will contribute to the strengthening of bilateral economic cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the importance of relations in the cultural-humanitarian system. Currently, cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science, and tourism is being successfully developed. In this regard, in accordance with the previously reached agreements, they exchanged views on holding the Year of Culture of Turkmenistan in China in 2024. In the same year, the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, the great thinker and poet of the Turkmen people, will be celebrated.

Expressing great satisfaction with the results of the talks, the Heads of State confirmed the commitment of Turkmenistan and China to long-term, promising, multilateral cooperation.

On May 19, our President took part in the "Central Asia - China" summit. This high-level meeting between the heads of state of Turkmenistan, the People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan is aimed at providing a strong impetus to the deepening of intergovernmental relations in a six-way manner, and helping to identify new tools for cooperation in the future.

Our country, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, continuously implements a foreign policy based on the legal status of permanent neutrality and develops effective bilateral and multilateral relations. Our country has successful relations with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the People's Republic of China, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in the framework of major international organizations and authoritative structures of the region, as well as in the form of "Central Asia - China".

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a profound speech at the "Central Asia-China" summit: "This summit reflects the development of relations between Central Asian countries and China today.

The peoples of Central Asia and China are connected by many friendly relations, a great experience of cooperation and good neighborliness. It is well known that the Great Silk Road, which stretches from China through the borders of Central Asia to Europe, is a condition for the development and progress of the entire world culture. In this regard, he said that holding this summit in Xi'an, the ancient capital of China, the starting point of the Great Silk Road, which is the starting point of the Great Silk Road, which is sister to the modern Turkmen city of Mary, which has been called the gateway to Central Asia since ancient times, he said.

At the end of his speech, the President of Turkmenistan said that he firmly believes in the need to continuously and unwaveringly strengthen friendship and cooperation relations between the six states and their peoples, preserve the traditions of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and mutual support.

During the meeting, interest was expressed and opinions were exchanged on the main issues of six-way cooperation. Along with this, the implementation of previously reached intergovernmental agreements was analyzed and reviewed. Priorities for future joint work have been identified. According to the general opinion of the participants of the high-level meeting, this format will undoubtedly provide a powerful impetus to cooperation in Central Asia, and the agreements reached will strengthen the basis of relations between the six countries. The Heads of State agreed that the forum will be held alternately every two years in China and Central Asian countries. After discussing the issues on the agenda, a signing ceremony was held.
