CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
On March 5, 2019, it was completed a registration of candidates for the elections instead of early retired, in some electoral districts of the country, deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, etrap, city Halk maslahaty and Gengeshes, which will be held on the last Sunday of March of this year.
Registration was conducted on a democratic basis by the relevant election commissions. In accordance with this, there were registered totally 281 candidates over 125 constituencies. This shows that in each constituency they will compete among themselves two and in some constituencies more than two candidates.
In accordance with Article 48 of the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, as well as to ensure the conditions for openness of the electoral process, information about candidates registered over constituencies will be brought to voters through the mass media.
