CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

As we know, on June 14-15, 2022, our esteemed President paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, our friendly neighbor state. During the working visit high-level bilateral beneficial intergovernmental talks were held with the governing bodies of the neighboring state. 

Today good cooperation with a neighboring country is being developed effectively not only on a mutually beneficial basis, but also in the interests of prosperity throughout the region. High-level meetings between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are a powerful impetus for the intensification of bilateral cooperation, taking into account the gained experiences and the economic potential of the results of the joint work, it has provided a favorable environment for determining approaches to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation. 

By the way, this is the first visit of our esteemed President to Tehran as part of his foreign trip as head of the state. This is a clear evidence that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to bilateral friendly cooperation with Iran. 

During the working visit of the leaders of the two countries on the one-on-one meeting our esteemed President said that one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy is to develop relations based on mutual respect with the countries of the world, first and foremost, with their neighbors. At the same time Turkmenistan noted that it pays great attention to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

Then the talks continued in a broad format with the participation of members of the Governmental delegations of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

When the talks are over, there was a signing ceremony of the bilateral documents. Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Seyed Ebrahim Raisi signed a Joint Declaration according to the results of the official visit under the roaring applause of the ceremony participants. 

At the end of the signing ceremony, Heads of the state gave a short address to the press. 

In addition, during the working visit our esteemed President met with the Great spiritual leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the "Jumhuri" palace of the "Saadabad" complex. Also, our esteemed President met with speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammed Bager Galibaf. 

Then at the "Hafeziye" palace the Heads of state watched the exhibition on the national values ​​of the Iranian people and the applied arts of the neighboring country. 

The agreements reached during the current visit of our esteemed President to the Islamic Republic of Iran will give a new impetus to the development of Turkmen-Iranian relations based on equality, mutual respect and trust in the interests of the two neighboring state and their fraternal people.
