CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

On May 5, 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the invitation of the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron paid an official visit to the friendly country of the French Republic.

At the “Orly” International Airport in Paris, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was warmly welcomed by officials of the French Republic, as well as members of the delegation of our country.

Then, Hero Arkadag met with Martin Bouygues at the residence of the head of the French company “Bouygues”. The businessman expressed gratitude to the national leader for finding time for the meeting, noted that it was a great honor for his company to participate in the implementation of large-scale construction projects in Turkmenistan and conveyed warm greetings, best wishes to esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Our Hero Arkadag expressed gratitude for the kind words and conveyed greetings of the Head of state to Martin Bouygues emphasizing that the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with large foreign companies is one of the key areas of our country’s foreign economic strategy, noting that the “Bouygues” company remains a long-standing and reliable business partner of Turkmenistan.

Then Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the venue of the Turkmen-French economic forum – the fashionable hotel “InterContinental Paris – Le Grand Hotel”. Our Hero Arkadag was warmly welcomed by Executive director of the French International Association “MEDEF International” Philippe Gautier.

The forum aimed at taking mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation to a qualitatively new level was attended by heads and representatives of leading French companies, members of the country’s delegation and Turkmen businessmen.

On the eve of the forum our National Leader and the participants of the event viewed an exhibition dedicated to the economic power and national heritage of our country.

Then Philippe Gautier opened the forum and thanked our Hero Arkadag for finding the time to participate in today’s forum as part of his visit to France and gave him the floor to speak.

The deeply meaningful speech of our Hero Arkadag at the Turkmen-French economic forum consisted of three sections. The first of them was the current geopolitical state of Turkmenistan, the second – the geo-economic state and the third – the coordination of joint work.

In his speech, Hero Arkadag noted that on the initiative of our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, 2025 year was declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust”. Our Hero Arkadag stated that this initiative was supported by members of the world community, including France and invited the forum participants to international events that will be held in our country on December 12 of this year, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality and the “International Year of Peace and Trust”.

French businessmen who participated in the forum expressed gratitude for the organization of this event, which provided an opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the enormous economic potential of Turkmenistan and noted that the participation of our Hero Arkadag in the forum further increased its significance.

A ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held at the end of the Turkmen-French economic forum.

Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went to the palace, where the official welcoming ceremony took place. In front of the central gate of the Honorary Square, our Hero Arkadag was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Memory and Veterans of the French Republic, Mrs. Patricia Miralles and the military governor of Paris, General Loic Mizon.

After the official welcoming ceremony, our Hero Arkadag went to the Elysee Palace. In front of the central entrance of the Elysee Palace, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.

After that negotiations took place between our Hero Arkadag and French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Emmanuel Macron warmly welcomed the distinguished guest, expressed his gratitude for accepting the invitation to visit France and expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss priority issues of interstate relations during a one-on-one meeting. The French leader expressed his country’s interest in expanding relations with Turkmenistan as a strategic partner, noting that Europe highly values ​​the peaceful foreign policy of our Neutral country.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and emphasized that the interstate dialogue based on the principles of friendship and mutual understanding has been fruitful in recent years.

During the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the sides confirmed the readiness of Turkmenistan and France to continue close cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.

Our Hero Arkadag expressed gratitude to the President of France Emmanuel Macron for the invitation to pay an official visit to Paris, the hospitality provided and the conditions created for work and also conveyed warm greetings from our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The signing ceremony of the bilateral documents took place at the end of the meeting.

Thus, official visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to the French Republic, opening a new page in interstate relations, became a clear demonstration of the commitment of Independent, permanently Neutral Turkmenistan to the development of effective cooperation with all interested countries in the interests of universal peace and sustainable development.
