CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
The season of registration of candidates nominated by political parties and citizens' groups for the elections of deputies of Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, etrap and city halk maslahats and Gengeshes which will be held on March 26, 2023 in the respective election groups has begun.
Candidates for the deputies of Mejlis of Turkmenistan are registered by the district election commission, the candidates for the membership of velayat, Ashgabat city halk maslahaty by the velayat, Ashgabat city election commission, etrap, the candidates for the membership of etrap, city halk maslahaty by the etrap, city election commission, and candidates for the membership of Gengeshes are registered by the election commission of the city in etrap, township, gengeshlik election commission.
According to the article 48 of the Election code of Turkmenistan, the registration of candidates begins fifty days before the elections and ends twenty-five days before the elections.
Thus, the registration of candidates will continue from February 4 to February 28, 2023.
