CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

On May 5, 2025, a meeting was held at the office of the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan between the Chairman of the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan G.Myradov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan N. Nogayev.

The meeting was also attended by other relevant persons from the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan and the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan.

The guests were introduced with the electoral system of Turkmenistan, election commissions, their creation, powers and activities carried out by them in the organized preparation and conduct of elections held in our country on a democratic basis and in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan. In addition, G.Myradov, speaking about international relations in the electoral system, noted that close, friendly relations are maintained with the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan thanked the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan for the reception. Taking this opportunity, the diplomat conveyed greetings from the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Abdirova and an invitation to the first meeting of the Consultative Platform of the central Electoral authorities of the Organization of Turkic States member countries, as well as to the international scientific and practical conference “The Turkic world: traditions, experience and prospects for the development of electoral systems”, which will be held on May 13-15 this year in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The guest continuing his speech, emphasized the common cultural and spiritual values of the Kazakh and Turkmen peoples friendship and good-neighborly relations that have developed throughout history. He noted that he was fully convinced of this when he took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday – International Day of Novruz, which were held this year in Turkmenistan at “Nowruz ýaýlasy”.

At the end of the meeting, G. Myradov addressing N. Nogayev, emphasized that the cooperation and friendly relations established between the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Central Electoral Commission of Turkmenistan will be continued and once again thanked the guests for participating in the meeting and concluded it by wishing them success in their work.
