On October 17, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers through digital system. During the meeting, President was informed about good news received from the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA. They inform about unanimous adoption of the Resolution “Avaza Political Declaration” at the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly on October 14 this year.
This document was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in collaboration with 57 states. Thus, document highlights the importance of international solidarity in strengthening economic potential of landlocked countries and their integration into the global economy, as well as importance of developing a sustainable transport system, digital and energy infrastructure, trade and environment. It is worth noting that with the close support of our esteemed President and our Hero Arkadag, the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC) was successfully held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone from August 5 to 8 of this year. Delegations from 104 countries and 46 international organizations visited our country to participate in the international forum. The conference included 6 plenary sessions, 5 high-level roundtables, 7 high-level forums and approximately 40 side events. Following the results of the international conference, Avaza Political Declaration and Avaza Action Plan for Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) for 2024-2034 were adopted.
At the meeting, our esteemed President addressed the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, noting that our country had received good news from the United Nations and sincerely congratulated the members of the Cabinet of Ministers on the adoption of the Resolution “Avaza Political Declaration”. “At the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Resolution “Avaza Political Declaration” was unanimously adopted, which was another confirmation of the great importance of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which was held at a high level in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. The support of many United Nations member states for this Resolution, as well as the co-authorship of a large number of states – a manifestation of great respect for Turkmenistan” – the head of state said.
The adoption of the Resolution “Avaza Political Declaration” was another confirmation of Turkmenistan’s high international authority and leading role in promoting the principles of permanent Neutrality, peace, mutual trust and cooperation at the global level.
