CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN

From November 4 – 7, 2025, our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to the United States of America. At the invitation of US President Donald Trump, our esteemed President took part in the “Central Asia – USA” summit held in Washington, D.C. (USA).

In a new historical era under the leadership of our esteemed President, Turkmenistan is consistently implementing a foreign policy strategy based on the principles of positive Neutrality, peacefulness and effective cooperation. This strategy is a continuation of the positive initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero Arkadag.

Turkmenistan and the United States of America have long-standing relations based on the principles of mutual respect and equality. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries in 1992, this dialogue has been steadily developing and covers a wide range of areas, from politics and economics to humanitarian cooperation. Our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by officials of the United States of America and members of the Turkmen delegation at “Andrews” International Airport in Washington, D.C.

As part of his working visit to the United States, the Head of State visited the White House. The Head of State was warmly welcomed here and left a memorable signature in the Guest Book in the Roosevelt Room of the White House.

Then, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the United States of America Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and expressed gratitude for accepting the invitation to participate in the “Central Asia–United States of America” summit.

The Head of State thanked the US President for inviting him to the White House for the meeting, as well as to participate in the “Central Asia – USA summit, noting that this format opens up new opportunities for strengthening cooperation between our countries in a wide range of areas and expressed confidence that this meeting will be an important step in the development of traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United States of America.

The esteemed President noted that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan the international community declared 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and emphasized that the United States supports this initiative of our country and that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening friendly, mutually beneficial relations with the United States of America.

At the end of the meeting, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the United States of America Donald Trump confirmed their readiness to further deepen Turkmen – American cooperation in all key areas.

Then, esteemed President took part in the “Central Asia – United States of America” summit. The summit chaired by US President Donald Trump was attended by the Presidents of the Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Before the start of the summit the official photographing of the Heads of State took place.

President Donald Trump welcomed the summit participants who accepted the invitation, expressed satisfaction with their arrival in the United States of America and expressed confidence that this high-level meeting would bring the six-party cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

Then the floor was given to the summit participants. In his speech, our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked President Donald Trump for the invitation to participate in the “Central Asia – United States of America” summit and drew attention to the positive results achieved since the establishment of this format. The Head of State noting the country’s intention to expand cooperation in such important strategic areas as security, economy, energy and ecology, expressed confidence that the results of the summit would contribute to further expansion of multilateral cooperation between Central Asia and the United States and thanked President Donald Trump for the warm welcome.

During the summit important issues of the six-party cooperation were discussed with interest and priority areas for further joint work were identified.

During the summit, the Declaration of Intent of the Governments of Turkmenistan, the Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the United States of America on Economic Cooperation and the Declaration of Intent of the Governments of Turkmenistan, the Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the United States of America on Cultural Heritage were adopted.

During his working visit to the United States of America, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Chairman of the Subcommittee on South and Central Asia of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives Bill Huizenga and his Deputy Mrs. Sydney Kai Kamlager-Dove.

Representatives of the U.S. Congress warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss issues of further development of cooperation between the United States and Turkmenistan. The Head of State expressed gratitude for the kind words and noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of mutually beneficial relations with the United States in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. In addition, the esteemed President noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of cooperation between the United States and Central Asian countries in the “C5+1” format, which has become an effective platform for discussing security, economic, climate and energy issues. Honorable Arkadagly Hero Serdar confirmed that Turkmenistan highly appreciates the results achieved and ready to further expand cooperation.

As part of his working visit to the United States, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with John Reese, CEO of “Nicklaus Companies”.

Warmly welcoming the businessman, esteemed President noted that the Turkmen-American business forum, which will be held during the visit, will provide a good opportunity for the company’s management to exchange views with representatives of Turkmenistan on promising projects and investment cooperation. As noted during the meeting, Turkmenistan considers the development of sports and tourism as important areas of sustainable development.

The businessman expressed his sincere gratitude for the opportunity to discuss priority areas of mutual cooperation and expressed confidence that the current visit of the head of state to the United States of America would give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

Thus, the participation of our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the “Central Asia–United States of America” summit confirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to the principles of positive Neutrality, multilateral cooperation and fact that it considers this platform as an important mechanism for promoting national and regional interests.
