CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
During in the Era of Revival of a new epoch of the powerful state, tasks set out in the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028” and “National Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the transformation of the social and living conditions of the population of villages, towns, cities, etraps and etrap centers for the period up to 2028” are being successfully implemented.
In accordance with commissions of the esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar on improving the administrative-territorial division of the country, in order to bring the administrative-territorial division of the Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats in line with the requirements of the time, taking into account the petitions of the velayat hyakimliks, presentation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, as well as in accordance with Law of Turkmenistan “On the procedure for resolving issues of the administrative-territorial division of Turkmenistan” and Resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, etraps of Altyn Asyr in the Ahal velayat, Garashsyzlyk and Gubadag in the Dashoguz velayat, Farap, Dovletli and Garabekevul in the Lebap velayat, as well as the etrap of Oguzhan in the Mary velayat were formed.
In this regard, in accordance with articles 18, 19 and 33 of the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, election commissions of the Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats respectively formed etrap election commissions of the Altyn Asyr, Garashsyzlyk, Gubadag, Farap, Dovletli, Garabekevul and Oguzhan etraps.
The work on forming etrap election commissions was carried out in an organized manner based on plan approved by the Central commission for holding elections and referendums in Turkmenistan.
